Mac App Store hits 1 million download mark on 1st day

Apple’s Mac App Store seems to be in the news for various reasons today. It wasn’t too long after the store was launched that folks figured out how to get some apps off it without paying. Now Apple has officially confirmed that over a million apps have been downloaded from the store in its first day in business.

Considering that the store offers over 1,000 free and paid apps, it’s easy to imagine its appeal to Mac users out there. The Mac App Store is available for Snow Leopard users through Software Update as part of OS X 10.6.6.
